Eating great food that improves your health, and sharing it with family and friends, has to be one of life ’s great pleasures.
Cooking with Joy cooking classes will give you the conﬁdence in the kitchen to plan and cook nutritious meals every day for the whole family, or to cook something extra special for a big event for friends. You will improve your skills and knowledge, cooking at a pace that suits you.
Maybe you want to learn something for a special occasion, or need nutritional advice to improve your health – each class will be personalised and suited to you, so that you can learn exactly what you want to learn.
The number of people in a class is limited based on your kitchen (or mine), so we can keep it as personal as possible. It’s all about having fun, learning a new skill and enjoying great tasting food.

The cooking lessons in your home are oﬀered as a one to one, or for small groups (2, 3 or 4 people), in your kitchen (or choice of venue), with your equipment, so you know you can replicate the recipes when I’m not there!
Whether you are a cooking novice or a bit of a whizz in the kitchen but would like to learn more, the lessons are tailored to your requirements and ability
Prior to the lesson, you will be asked to complete a short consultation form to give me an idea of your likes/dislikes, where you shop, what scares you in the kitchen, what you would like to gain from your lesson etc. I will then send you a list of recipes to choose from and once you’ve picked 3 dishes, I will send through a shopping list of ingredients for you to source before the lesson.
Once the cooking is over I will leave you to relax and enjoy the fruits of your labour – you could plan to have friends over for lunch, or dinner, or just impress your family with the delights you have produced!
I will leave you with the recipes and will be on hand if you ever need to make that emergency call for more guidance.
Monthly cooking and nutrition workshops take place in my kitchen, based near Henley-on-Thames (there is plenty of parking available).
Prior to the lesson, you will be asked to complete a short consultation form to give me an idea of your likes/dislikes and what you would like to learn with regards to your personal nutrition – do you suﬀer with joint pain, are you trying to lose weight, are you going through the menopause, do you do a lot of sport etc., and what types of food you like/dislike.
You will arrive at 11am and then over a healthy drink and snack we will talk about nutrition and how your diet aﬀects you, and how making simple changes can impact on your health. You will be given personal handouts so you don’t need to remember all the information!
You will then cook a great lunch (at least 6 dishes between us), to show how simple it is to make nutritious food, which is the ﬁrst step to improving your health. After lunch we will talk through what we have learnt and you will go home with a goody bag.
